Three Hires. One Recipe for Growth.
Over the course of 12 months, we worked with Wild Nutrition on building its Digital team by bringing in three key hires across its eCommerce, Social Media and Growth functions:
- eCommerce Manager
- Social Media Manager
- Head of Growth – Maternity Cover
While each search required a very different specialist skillset, they shared the same fundamental challenge: Wild Nutrition wanted genuinely exceptional people who could be amongst the best at what they do, while also being able to work from its Lewes HQ a minimum of two days per week.
That meant taking three already competitive digital talent markets and narrowing them considerably based on geography.
- eCommerce
The Client
- eCommerce
Wild Nutrition is a premium health and supplements brand, founded by nutritional therapist Henrietta Norton. Built around its Food-Grown® supplements, the business has grown into one of the UK’s best-known independent brands within the wellness and nutrition space.
With a strong DTC model and ambitious plans for growth, Wild Nutrition needed specialist digital talent capable of making a genuine commercial impact within a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment.
The Challenge
Across all three searches, the challenge was finding candidates who brought together a highly specific combination of functional expertise, commercial judgement, hands-on capability and the right level of seniority.
From eCommerce and social media to senior growth leadership, each role required someone who could operate beyond a narrow functional remit and make a genuine impact in a fast-moving DTC business. Candidates needed to understand not just their own channel or discipline, but how their work translated into wider commercial performance.
The requirement to work from Lewes at least two days a week narrowed an already specialist talent pool further.
The searches therefore required a skills-led approach: looking beyond conventional titles to identify people with the exact combination of experience and capabilities Wild Nutrition needed.
How We Got to Work
Due to the small talent pool, we took a skills-led approach, breaking each of the three briefs down into the capabilities Wild Nutrition actually needed rather than relying on job titles or obvious candidate profiles.
For the eCommerce Manager, we focused on smaller DTC businesses across Sussex and the surrounding area, targeting people with Shopify, trading and product optimisation experience, alongside a practical understanding of eCommerce SEO. This helped uncover candidates used to taking broad ownership rather than working within a narrow corporate function.
For the Social Media Manager, we looked for candidates who could genuinely combine creative brand thinking with performance analysis. The search focused on consumer brands and people who could demonstrate both strong content instincts and the ability to use data to shape and improve social performance.
As for the Head of Growth, the approach became much more targeted. We mapped a pool of 30 potential candidates against the role’s key requirements: cross-channel paid media expertise, technical depth, senior stakeholder management and the ability to translate marketing performance into commercial insight. This was then narrowed to the five candidates who met the full brief.
Location was a consistent filter throughout, with candidates needing to realistically commute to Lewes and meet the two-day office requirement.
By building each search around the underlying skills and requirements, rather than simply matching titles, we were able to access a much more relevant and often overlooked pool of talent.
The Result
Across approximately 12 months, Wild Nutrition trusted us with three very different specialist searches spanning eCommerce, Social Media and Growth.
The searches resulted in three successful appointments, each bringing the specific combination of skills Wild Nutrition needed:
Mike Turnham – Head of Growth
Mike combined deep paid media expertise with the senior-level communication and commercial judgement needed to operate at C-suite level. He was ultimately appointed to lead Growth during the maternity cover.
Charlotte Rollin – Social Media Manager
Charlotte brought a strong consumer brand background, including ASOS, alongside the creative instincts and analytical mindset needed to build and optimise Wild Nutrition’s social presence.
Jenna Rix – eCommerce Manager
Jenna combined strong Shopify and DTC experience with the eCommerce SEO knowledge Wild Nutrition needed, alongside the hands-on, broad ownership required in a growing business.

From the UK to the Gold Coast
Edge Marketing is an Australian marketing agency on the Gold Coast.
Co-founder Rohan Dwyer was looking for a Head of SEO who could take ownership of the agency’s SEO department, shape its SEO proposition and drive the service line forward.

Seven Years. 17 Hires. One Future MD.
Reboot is an independent digital marketing agency specialising in Search, Digital PR and Paid Media.
Our relationship with the agency developed over seven years, meaning we were able to support the business as its hiring requirements evolved.
That included finding specialist practitioners across SEO and Paid Media, commercial Growth hires and, eventually, senior leaders capable of taking significant responsibility for the direction and operation of the agency.
As the business grew, the hires became increasingly strategic.
Two searches in particular would ultimately help shape Reboot’s senior leadership team: Director of Growth and Director of Operations.

Putting a Leader Behind Mediavision’s Growth
Mediavision is an established independent digital agency, working with ambitious brands across Search and digital performance.
Having built a successful agency and strong client base over more than a decade, the business was ready to put greater senior ownership around growth.
Until this point, responsibility for winning new business and growing the agency had been shared across the senior team. The next stage required someone who could take proper ownership of it.
This wasn’t simply about hiring a salesperson.
Mediavision wanted someone who could work across the entire agency, bringing together sales, new business, marketing, positioning and brand visibility into a coherent growth strategy.
- eCommerce
Finding an SEO Who Speaks Sneaker
The Sole Supplier is one of the UK’s leading footwear and streetwear platforms, helping sneaker fans discover the latest releases, news and trends from some of the biggest brands in the world.
The business has grown significantly, building a highly engaged audience alongside a team with a genuine passion for the space.
That culture was particularly important to them.
This isn’t a business where people simply happen to work in footwear and streetwear. The team genuinely lives and breathes the product outside of work, and preserving that as the company grows is a major priority.
SEO was already an important acquisition channel and The Sole Supplier had an external agency supporting its activity. The next step was to bring somebody senior enough in-house to take proper ownership of the channel.

Five Years. One Trusted Partner.
Founded in 1810, Heal’s is one of Britain’s most iconic furniture and interior design brands. For the past five years, we’ve partnered with Head of eCommerce Mark Hammond, supporting the growth of his digital team through specialist hires across eCommerce, performance marketing and design.

Taking the Weight Off the Founder
Tacomi is a specialist Search agency with deep expertise across SEO, technical SEO and the evolving AEO landscape.
We had already been working with founder Chad Conlon and the team when they approached us about one of the most important hires they were about to make to date.
The agency was already operating at a very high technical level, but Chad remained heavily involved in the day-to-day. The next stage of growth required someone senior enough to take genuine ownership from him, without compromising the quality of work that had helped Tacomi build its reputation.
