40 Hires and Counting
We’ve worked with Vervaunt for seven years, almost since the business’s inception. During that time, it grew from an ambitious specialist eCommerce consultancy into one of the UK’s most respected independent eCommerce and performance marketing agencies – and we’ve been fortunate to help build much of the team along the way.
Across our relationship, we’ve filled 40 roles across Paid Media and Affiliate Marketing, from junior Consultants starting their careers to senior Consultants and Account Directors managing some of the agency’s largest clients.
The roles have evolved, but the recruitment challenge hasn’t: Vervaunt operates at an exceptionally high level, and the bar remains high regardless of experience or seniority.

The Client
- Agencies
Vervaunt is a specialist eCommerce consultancy and performance marketing agency, working with ambitious DTC, retail, fashion and luxury brands including Dr. Martens, PANGAIA, The Frankie Shop, Osprey, Paul Smith, Mulberry, A.P.C. and Sunspel.
Its expertise spans Paid Search, Paid Social, Shopping, Affiliates, Creative and wider eCommerce strategy, but what really sets Vervaunt apart is the depth of its approach.
Rather than simply managing media budgets and reporting on ROAS, its consultants get under the bonnet of each business – understanding its commercial objectives, customer journey, technology, margins, inventory and wider eCommerce strategy to make better marketing decisions.
That depth requires a particular calibre of person.
The Challenge
The core challenge throughout our relationship has been deceptively simple:
Everybody who joins Vervaunt is expected to be elite at what they do.
Vervaunt works with sophisticated, high-growth eCommerce brands that expect its consultants to operate as an extension of their internal teams. Platform competence alone isn’t enough.
For Paid Media, candidates need a strong DTC and eCommerce background, full-funnel expertise across Paid Search and Paid Social, and a broader understanding of areas such as Shopping, attribution, creative and customer acquisition.
Just as importantly, they need to be commercially minded and client-facing – able to build trusted relationships, communicate strategy clearly and challenge clients when necessary.
At senior levels, that means taking ownership of complex accounts and acting as a genuine strategic partner.
Finding that combination consistently, across multiple levels and over seven years, has been the challenge.
How We Got to Work
Seven years of working together has given us a clear understanding of what a Vervaunt person looks like.
When we started searching the market, we looked beyond platform experience. We assessed the complexity of the accounts the candidates have managed, their eCommerce understanding, commercial involvement and ability to think across the full customer journey.
We also paid close attention to how they communicate – whether they can simplify complex issues, challenge constructively and show genuine curiosity about the wider business.
That understanding of Vervaunt’s culture, standards and expectations means we’re able to be highly targeted rather than starting from scratch with every brief.
It’s become a recruitment partnership built around an established benchmark.
The Result
The best measure of any relationship is its longevity.
Over seven years, we’ve successfully filled 40 positions across Vervaunt’s Paid Media and Affiliate Marketing teams, from junior Consultants through to Account Directors.
Those hires have helped Vervaunt build specialist teams and support its continued growth as its client roster has expanded.
For us, the value goes beyond individual placements. Seven years of working together means we understand the benchmark, the culture and the people who genuinely thrive at Vervaunt.
7 years. 40 hires. And a recruitment partnership that has grown alongside the business.

Seven Years. 17 Hires. One Future MD.
Reboot is an independent digital marketing agency specialising in Search, Digital PR and Paid Media.
Our relationship with the agency developed over seven years, meaning we were able to support the business as its hiring requirements evolved.
That included finding specialist practitioners across SEO and Paid Media, commercial Growth hires and, eventually, senior leaders capable of taking significant responsibility for the direction and operation of the agency.
As the business grew, the hires became increasingly strategic.
Two searches in particular would ultimately help shape Reboot’s senior leadership team: Director of Growth and Director of Operations.

Putting a Leader Behind Mediavision’s Growth
Mediavision is an established independent digital agency, working with ambitious brands across Search and digital performance.
Having built a successful agency and strong client base over more than a decade, the business was ready to put greater senior ownership around growth.
Until this point, responsibility for winning new business and growing the agency had been shared across the senior team. The next stage required someone who could take proper ownership of it.
This wasn’t simply about hiring a salesperson.
Mediavision wanted someone who could work across the entire agency, bringing together sales, new business, marketing, positioning and brand visibility into a coherent growth strategy.

Finding an SEO Who Speaks Sneaker
The Sole Supplier is one of the UK’s leading footwear and streetwear platforms, helping sneaker fans discover the latest releases, news and trends from some of the biggest brands in the world.
The business has grown significantly, building a highly engaged audience alongside a team with a genuine passion for the space.
That culture was particularly important to them.
This isn’t a business where people simply happen to work in footwear and streetwear. The team genuinely lives and breathes the product outside of work, and preserving that as the company grows is a major priority.
SEO was already an important acquisition channel and The Sole Supplier had an external agency supporting its activity. The next step was to bring somebody senior enough in-house to take proper ownership of the channel.

Taking the Weight Off the Founder
Tacomi is a specialist Search agency with deep expertise across SEO, technical SEO and the evolving AEO landscape.
We had already been working with founder Chad Conlon and the team when they approached us about one of the most important hires they were about to make to date.
The agency was already operating at a very high technical level, but Chad remained heavily involved in the day-to-day. The next stage of growth required someone senior enough to take genuine ownership from him, without compromising the quality of work that had helped Tacomi build its reputation.
