Head of SEO/Search for growing independent agency in London

Overview

This is a senior leadership role within a growing, independent specialised performance marketing agency in East London.

The Head of Search will own and evolve the agency’s search offering, spanning SEO, Digital PR, and Generative / AI-driven search.

This person will sit close to the leadership team, shaping commercial strategy, service innovation, and long-term growth of the department.

You’ll be trusted to run search as a business unit while helping push the agency’s reputation forward in a rapidly changing search landscape.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead and scale the agency’s SEO function, setting vision, standards, and direction across SEO, Digital PR and AI-search initiatives

• Partner closely with C-suite stakeholders to shape the agency’s search proposition and future roadmap

• Own departmental performance including quality of delivery, team development, commercial contribution, and margin

• Act as the most senior escalation point for complex client strategy and stakeholder conversations

• Oversee and mentor a growing team of senior and mid-level search specialists

• Play a key role in new business activity, pitches, and upsell opportunities

• Champion innovation across areas such as GEO, AI visibility, entity-based optimisation, and modern measurement frameworks

• Ensure best-in-class technical foundations, content strategy, and off-page activity across client work

Salary

£70k-£80k

London offices 3 x a week minimum
